Pastor's Story

I was blessed to grow up in a strong Christian home in South Dakota. I accepted Christ to be my personal Savior at a children’s Bible camp as a young person. After high school graduation, I attended the University of South Dakota where I graduated with a business degree. In preparation for the CPA examination, I promised the Lord I would give my CPA license back to Him if He ever asked me to.
I married my wife, Nancy in 1980. Nancy also was blessed to have grown up in a strong Christian home. We moved to Winner, SD to open a CPA business. The Lord gave us three children, Heather, Caleb, and Hannah during our early years in Winner. Nancy and I served the local church in Winner in many capacities.
Our business in Winner grew slowly but steadily over a 25 year span. In February 2005, the Lord spoke clearly to me during a Sunday morning worship time. He reminded me of my promise to Him many years prior. God was asking me to sell all and prepare for pastoral ministry. Nancy and I began to pray, seek counsel, and take steps toward this life change. I enrolled in and completed the pastoral ministry program of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church and subsequently received my ministry license with the C&MA.
We responded to the call to pastor Redwood Alliance Church in August 2007.
